Vesuvianite Group Gems

The Vesuvianite Group of minerals includes Cyprine, Vesuvianite and Wiluite. Cyprine is the copper (Cu) bearing member of the group and Wiluite is the boron (B) bearing member of the group. Individual members of this group are difficult to distinguish without detailed analyses. Vesuvianite group minerals occur in different contact rocks of metamorphic, volcanic and hydrothermal origin.
